Each and every family session feels different to me. Sure, there may be same poses or formations depending on the number of family members. But at different stages of life and with so many different personalities involved, I try to get the essence of each family as they are at that point in time.
Oftentimes, families would have sessions when their kids are still young, perhaps below the age of 5. As the kids get older, sessions start dwindling as the newness of having a little addition gets mingled with the constant flow of daily life. Where work has to be done, house has to be cleaned, bills gotta get paid. Then when families have time to take a breather and realise that it has been awhile since they last had a photo session to capture that phase, that’s where I come in.
To hopefully get some pictures that we can look back on in years to come and realise that despite all that may happen, there are good times to be had and happy memories to be made. Most of these relaxed family portraits that you see below were shot in their homes, which makes it even more meaningful as that’s where most family memories would be.
So many more pictures from recent family portrait session in Kuala Lumpur that I’d love to share but for now, here’s a few of my favourite ones from the past.
