Priscilla & Raymond

Thanks to a referral from Vera & Philip (who was the first couple to fly me to KK to shoot their wedding even when I wasn’t a full time photographer yet! I’ll always be grateful to them for trusting a noob then ;D), Priscilla recently contacted me to shoot some portraits for her and her fiance Raymond at the Maple.

We corresponded via email for a couple of days before the shoot and in one of her emails she said, “The only problem is probably we are both are kinda not photogenic people so we need help on that score indeed hehehe but we surely will try our best to follow what you ask us to try :)”

Cilla, all I have to say to that now that I’ve met you two is, “Liaaaarrrrrr!!”. Heheheh…

I don’t know whether or not I told you both of you this (maybe I didn’t, since it’s so corny), but to me, you two ARE photogenic. I honestly don’t think its how you look which matters at the end of the day, but how you connect with each other.

Throughout our session, you and Raymond  were unabashedly loving to each other, you gave each other real kisses (instead of light pecks!heehehe) and the genuine smiles and laughters warmed my heart and made me feel blessed to have captured real emotions instead of only posed shots.

Cilla and Raymond, it was a pleasure to meet you two, congratulations again on your upcoming nuptials and have fun with the preparations for the wedding :)

Here are some of my favourite shots from the day. Enjoy!

Carol & Hong - Couple Portraiture

It was a couple of months ago that I received Carol’s email about a portraiture session. She mentioned that she was from KK but has been working away from home for the past 10 years. I thought to myself, “Cool! Fellow Sabahan!” :)

We corresponded online for a couple of weeks before her trip back to KL with her fiance. Despite both our tight schedules, Carol, Hong and I managed to meet up for drinks a day prior to our portraiture session.

I would usually recommend meeting up with your photographer or at least corresponding with them, prior to the shoot so that you know what to expect, especially for weddings!

Anyway, I don’t know whether its cause Carol and I have corresponded online or it’s just a Sabahan thing, but we could just yak about anything under the sun! Poor Hong just sat there listening to both of us yak on. Hahaha!

Our session was done on a weekday and this was great as it meant there wouldn’t be so many people gawking as the locations that I would usually bring my couples to are public places. That being said, there were some ‘gawkers’ at the location and you’ll see the pics below ;)

Here are some of my favourite shots from the session with Carol and Hong.

Carol is an avid salsa dancer and she’s obviously taught Hong a few dance moves as well ;) Just realised I’ve been shooting quite a number of couples who do salsa (like Olivier and Nadia!). Hmmm…maybe I should pick it up too ;p

We had some ‘extras’ during our shoot. First up was a curious pre-schooler…

…and then came along 2 guys on a motorbike. Heh.

Carol and Hong, I had fun shooting the two of you. Thanks for being so so accommodating despite the hot, hot weather.

Have fun with the rest of the preparations for your big day next year!

And thank you too for the chocolates from Holland! I love, love, love chocolates (which explains the spots on me face!). Hahaha! Layaaaaaannnnn :D

Jullian & Marie - Couple Portraiture Session

I was back in KK recently (eh, all my recent blog posts seems to start with that line :p) and I had the pleasure of shooting Jullian and Marie’s couple portraiture session.

I had met Jullian previously when he had a stopover in KL. But it was my first time meeting Marie and boy! Is she gorgeous or what? Marie reminds me of a doll - with her big eyes and porcelain skin, it was no wonder that Jullian shamelessly approached her when she was working at San Francisco Coffee House a couple of year ago :p.

Had the pleasure also of shooting together with Ian, a photographer based in Miri and also Jullian’s best friend. He’s the one who referred me to Jullian and Marie. Thanks again for the referral!

Here are some of my favourite shots from our session.

Awesome t-shirt eh? And guess what? Marie bought it for Jullian. LOL!

Isn’t she gorgeous? :)

Jullian and Marie, thanks for putting up with the KK heat and just going along with my ‘directions’. I had fun shooting you two and I can’t wait for your wedding in Miri come November :) See you both soon!

And Ian, thanks for the behind the scenes pic (which shows how much I tokkok and sit around on my ass all the time :p I kid, I kiiiiid ;p) and heartiest congratulations on the birth of your baby :) For those in Sarawak who are looking for a photographer, Ian’s the man to look for! Check out his blog here.

Steph & Yi Toung - ROM

Steph, a good friend whom I’ve known more than 10 years (?!? wahliao! damn long oledi wei! :p) recently got married to Yi Toung and had their marriage registration done in Putrajaya. I had the pleasure of shooting the ROM for them and here are some of my favourite shots :)

Prior to the registration ceremony, we spent half an hour taking some casual portraits at an area nearby the registration building.

Congratulations again you two! Have fun during you pre-wedding honeymoon in Europe and don’t forget to buy me a souvenir. Or better yet, bring back a ‘leng chai’ for me! Hehe..see ya both soon!

Ea Wei & Pat’s ROM

I recently had the pleasure of shooting Ea Wei and Pat’s ROM in PJ. I’ll also be shooting their church ceremony and dinner reception end of this month so it was great to be able to cover their ROM session first since it also meant we had more time to bond and they had more time to get used to being in front of the camera ;)

Ea Wei’s a photography enthusiast and he kept on telling me that he wasn’t a good model. Judging from what I saw on that day, I must say that he and Pat do make good models as they knew what I was trying to convey. So even if both of you keep on telling me you’re not good in front of the camera, I know you’re lying. Heheheh…

Here are some of my favourite shots from the day. Enjoy!

Ea Wei’s brother and Pat’s sister must’ve been laughing over some dirty joke ;p Hehe…I kid, I kiiid.

During the ring exchange

After the ROM, we took a couple of minutes to take some casual portraits outside :)

Ea Wei and Pat, I am so looking forward to shooting your wedding! See you both soon :D

Terence & Nicole’s Pre-Wedding Session

Terence and Nicole are getting married this coming weekend! Woot!

I’ll be heading back to KK again from Thursday onwards and I’ll be shooting their church ceremony as well as dinner reception :)

When I was back in KK last weekend, I had the opportunity to shoot their pre-wedding pictures a day before I headed back to KL. I didn’t know what to expect as I didn’t have much time to recce for new locations and I was a bit worried about the weather as well.

But I was absolutely blessed that day as the ‘normal’ locations we shot at turned out to be awesome and we had ridicilously beautiful weather throughout the session.

It was like somebody up there was thinking, “Ok its time to give Anna some lovin’ since she’s been working so hard lately”. Hehe…thank you, thank you :D

Ok enough of my jabbering on. Here are some of my favourite shots from that day :)

Nicole’s beautiful dress was made by her mother-in-law. Doesn’t she look gorgeous in it?

I love, love both their expression here. So happy!

Looks like a beautiful location doesn’t it? FYI, the grass was a minefield of cow dung and the smell wasn’t exactly potpourri ;p

At the start of our ‘wet and salty’ part of the session. Heheehee…

Terence and Nicole, I had tons of fun that day :) Thank you two for being so accommodating, for being gung-ho enough to get wet during the ‘wet and salty’ part of our session, for trusting me whenever I asked you guys to do ’stuff’. Hehehe…can’t wait to see ya both this weekend!

Olivier and Nadia - Couple Portraiture

Olivier and Nadia recently got married in France and when they headed back to KL, they decided to have a casual portraiture session to celebrate their union :)

I asked the newlyweds how they met and while Nadia’s version was simple - that they had met during salsa classes. Olivier’s version was a bit more physical - that when they were practising a dance, Nadia elbowed his head. Hahahaha! :p

Our session started off at Tmn Rimba Kiara at TTDI and was wrapped up at Sg Buloh. Here are some of my favourite shots :)

Olivier and Nadia, thanks again for being such great models and I hope you have tons of fun during your wedding reception :) Take care!

Megat & Sarah - Couple Portraiture

Megat spoke to me a couple of months ago about shooting a couple portraiture session with Sarah, his girlfriend from uni days.

We had to reschedule a couple of times due to conflicting schedules but we finally managed to shoot the session earlier today under beautiful blue skies.

I had fun shooting Megat and Sarah as they were full of enthusiasm and open to ideas as well :) It was such a breeze to shoot them that we managed to wrap up the session within an hour.

That gave us plenty of time to go to Khana Curry House for lunch straightafter the shoot. Woot!

Megat and Sarah, hope you both had fun throughout the session (even tho someone was sweating profusely ;p hehehe..). And thanks for lunch too :)

Here are some of my favourite pics from the day. Enjoy!

Aren’t they gorgeous? :)

Super Weekend!

Earlier today (well technically speaking yesterday), I had the pleasure of shooting a sporting couple’s pre-wedding session. They were up for every single thing I suggested, I likeeee! Hehehehe…

Am itching to share some of my favourite shots from the day - but guess what? I forgot to ask them about posting their pics up on my blog! Silly me.

They mentioned that they were planning to showcase the pics during their reception dinner end of next month so I might just wait till then to post the rest up, but in the meantime here’s a lil preview.

On a personal note, I’ve got such a packed weekend ahead that I’m feeling abit overwhelmed. 1 solemnisation ceremony and 1 couple portraiture session to shoot as well as 2 album layouts to finish off by Sunday. Ye gads!

Funny thing is, at the same time, I know it’ll be an absolute blast! Hehe…yes, I tend to contradict myself quite often.

Wokey, am off to catch some winks before I collapse from lack of sleep :p Toodle-loo!

Andi & Rozalin - Couple Portraiture

I always thought that corny pick up lines only happened in movies.

I was wrong.

When I asked Andi and Rozalin how they first met, they both just burst out laughing before answering my question.

Apparently, this was back in college when Andi was still a shy young lad and had trouble asking girls out. He picked one of the oldest tricks in the book - the coin trick to be exact ;)

Picking up a coin near where Rozalin was sitting, Andi approached her and asked whether or not the coin belonged to her. Corny no? Hehe…immediately after that he just sat down next to her and bombarded her with tons of questions - where she lived, what did she like doing, et cetera.

It was absolutely hilarious to hear that story but I found it absolutely sweet as well. Shy boys do score with hot girls using old school tricks :)

Their portraiture session was to celebrate their 5th year anniversary which was actually on June 1 (eh betul tak? ;p) and I had tons of fun shooting them at the same location in Sg Buloh where Louis brought the workshop participants during his recent workshop. It’s an awesome, awesome location! :D Thanks again for showing us the place Louis!

Here are some of my favourite shots from the session :)

Andi and Rozalin brought along some pictures from their wedding 5 years ago…

…we tried reenacting the same pose. ‘Tried’ being the operative word here before we all burst out laughing ;D

Towards the end of the shoot, Andi jokingly said that I was having fun ‘bullying’ the both of them by getting them to exercise throughout the shoot. He also claims that he lost 10kgs after the shoot. LOL!

When I was looking back at the pics, I started laughing to myself cause what he said was quite true as they had to ‘lift weights’, run, jump and ‘punch through glass’ just to get their pictures taken.ar025.jpg

Maybe I should start offering photography packages which include a workout session as well. Hehehe…

We were about to wrap up the shoot when it started drizzling, thank goodness for umbrellas!

Andi and Rozalin, thank you so much for having fun with me throughout the shoot. You both make an awesome couple and it’s great to see the love and laughter between the two of you.

Thanks also for the lil plush cat and the card. Really didn’t expect it and I really, really appreciate your kind gesture.

Here’s to many more years of laughter and fun ahead :)¬† from your photographer/personal trainer/’torturer’ :p
